Michael Thaler Founder
Michael is the founder and activator of the "My Purpose Plan" program, which helps next-level seekers understand their purpose and empowers them to live it out.
Michael was the founder and Chief Purpose Officer of Equity Concepts, LLC for 33 years until he sold the company in 2024. At that time Equity Concepts had over $1.7 billion under advisement and served over 3,000 clients. Equity Concepts remains at the forefront of the financial industry with the mission of helping clients understand their purpose and position them financially to live it out. Michael was passionate about helping people realize and live out God's dreams for their lives and believes that financial advisors can be a huge part of this endeavor. He has been featured in Investment News among other publications, and is the creator of many financial frameworks including; Impact of Volatility™, Value of Positioning™, Compound Tax Strategy™, Tax Savings Solution™ and Your Wealth Advisory Board™. He is a member of Strategic Coach™, Advisor Excel’s Hall of Fame, and was nationally ranked within the top 5 agents at Lafayette Life Agency for 15 straight years.
Michael is the founder and international director of Effective Ministries, Inc., (“EMI”) a nonprofit organization that focuses on the needs of children and families in Richmond, Virginia, and Niger, Africa. EMI partners with over 68 local organizations in Niger that work in the five focus areas of health, clean water, orphan care, education, and micro-business. Since 2003, EMI has sent 145 teams consisting of 1,496 travelers to Niger, provided over 10 million meals, and has built 18 schools educating 8,710 students. In 2017, Michael was awarded the Global Community Impact Award by The Invest in Others Charitable Foundation. Michael hosts the After Yes Podcast, a podcast where travelers to Niger tell their stories of how God uses our ‘yes’ to grow us and impact those around us.
Michael was part of the historical restoration of the Robinson Theater in 2008 so it could be reopened as a community arts center in the city of Richmond, Virginia. He regularly volunteers there for many events and outreaches. Michael also actively serves with the RVA Hope Center to offer freedom to those trapped in human trafficking and exploitation. Michael has spoken to large groups in the USA and Niger on the topics of focus, positioning, and purpose. Michael and his wife, Sharon, live in Goochland, Virginia along with their four children, Alise, Brennan, Sakina, and Zalika.
